"America's Sweetheart City!"

Cathy's Colorado Properties

Loveland, Colorado

Welcome to Loveland, Colorado, your gateway to the Rockies and affectionately known as "America's Sweetheart City!" Whether you are visiting, relocating, or growing your business, Loveland is a great city to do what you want.

Loveland is nestled against the foothills in a lush valley at the entrance to the Big Thompson Canyon and is known as the "gateway to the Rockies." It is 46 miles north of Denver on the I-25 Corridor.

Dotted in and around the city and surrounding areas are an abundance of scenic lakes, parks, trails and recreational areas. Loveland's lakes, rivers and streams provide for swimming, water skiing, rafting, boating, fishing and other water sports. Loveland's mountains provide ample opportunities for hiking, biking, and horseback riding.

With an average of 300 days of sunshine per year and low humidity, Loveland experiences pleasant weather year-round. There is always something happening in this community; from musical concerts, art shows, and theater productions to professional hockey games, community celebrations and a multitude of conventions. Loveland offers a variety of both indoor and outdoor activities enjoyable for every season.

If Loveland is your vacation destination, this city has abundant outdoor recreation opportunities including three golf courses, fishing, boating, hiking, biking, horseback riding and camping. You will be in awe of our unique public art collection that totals more than 200 pieces, many visible throughout the city. Tour one of our bronze casting foundries that attracts sculptors from around the world.

Although Loveland is rapidly growing in reputation as an arts community, it has been recognized for many decades as the "Sweetheart City" thanks to the infamous Valentine Re-mailing Program. Visitors have always delighted seeing the traditional heart shaped signs posted throughout the city thanks to the Rotary Club of Loveland.

Since the 1970's, Loveland, Colorado has been a mecca for artists and Loveland's affection for art is evident everywhere. Throughout the city you'll find sculpture, galleries, public works creatively decorated and even large walls with beautifully painted murals.

Today visitors to Loveland can find hearts throughout the city regardless of the time of year thanks to our friends at Engaging Loveland. In 2007 Engaging Loveland began a project called Loveland: A City with Heart that creates monumental hearts made of fiberglass and stand five feet tall and four and a half feet wide. Each heart is individually designed and painted by local Loveland artists with businesses and individuals sponsoring a heart of their selection. Today you will find 18 of these hearts displayed around town.

As Highway 34 makes its way from I-25 westward through Loveland, travelers enter the Big Thompson Canyon. The "Narrows" at the mouth of the canyon, feature a winding, steep, gorge created by the river's erosion. The rock formations, that over time have been tip-tilted nearly 90 degrees by the movement of the earth, add to the scenic drive between Loveland and Estes Park. The Big Thompson River weaves its way through this breathtaking canyon. The area is also home to Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep.

If you are planning to relocate, Loveland's businesses, schools, health care, churches, economic climate, real estate, government, and many outdoor parks and athletic fields are second to none. Come see why Loveland is billed the "Arts & Hearts" capital of Colorado, and why Loveland was voted the number one place in the nation to "Revitalize your Life," by AARP Magazine.

Loveland is more than a great place to visit - it's a great place to work and raise a family, but above all, Loveland is a great place to call home.
